Journeyman Electrician (Commercial/Industrial)

About the Role

Journeymen are the heart of PFD Electric—and the reason we make sh*t happen. This position calls for a skilled trade professional capable of performing a wide range of electrical installations, repairs, and maintenance across industrial and commercial facilities. From bottling plants and food processing lines to large-scale hospitality environments, this role keeps critical systems running safely, efficiently, and to spec.

While highly capable and experienced, our Journeymen also see every job as an opportunity to sharpen their technical execution, deepen their electrical and mechanical understanding, and help lead the next generation of electricians in the trade.

Core Electrical & Mechanical Responsibilities

  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial and industrial electrical systems.

  • Perform work in compliance with NEC code, OSHA requirements, and job site safety standards.

  • Perform high-quality conduit work including EMT, PVC, RMC, and underground installations.

  • Pull, terminate, and label conductors for power, lighting, controls, and motor systems.

  • Install and troubleshoot panels, transformers, disconnects, MCCs, VFDs, PLCs, and related equipment.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, one-lines, schematics, and field drawings.

  • Perform precise layout, measuring, bending, mounting, and equipment installation work.

  • Troubleshoot electrical and control systems safely and efficiently in active facilities and job sites.

  • Use hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, lifts, and job site equipment safely and correctly.

  • Support shutdowns, startup work, service calls, upgrades, and industrial troubleshooting projects.

  • Maintain clean, organized, and professional work in the field.

  • Take pride in craftsmanship, attention to detail, and doing the job right the first time.

  • Represent PFD Electric professionally with customers, contractors, and fellow crew members.


What We’re Looking For

  • 3+ years of JOURNEYMAN level commercial or industrial electrical experience, or a valid Journeymen license (if from out of state)

  • Valid OSHA 10 or OSHA 30

  • Deep understanding of 480V, 277/120V, and control systems.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to interpret schematics, blueprints, and one-line diagrams.

  • Skilled in motor controls, relay logic, PLC familiarity, and VFDs.

  • Dependable, self-motivated, and quality-driven with strong attention to detail.

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

  • Physically able to lift 50+ lbs and work safely in varied environments (heights, confined spaces, indoor/outdoor).
